The SunFDDI(TM) SBus Adapter 6.0 and SunFDDI(TM) PCI Adapter 2.0 are
supported on systems running
the Solaris(TM) operating environment, versions 2.5.1, 2.6, and 7.
This document describes how to install the driver software for the SunFDDI/S
6.0 and SunFDDI/P 2.0
web release.
Note - For a list of supported platforms and complete
information about how to configure the
SunFDDI(TM) Driver software, refer to the SunFDDI(TM) SBus Adapter
6.0 User's Guide, part number
805-5447-10, or the SunFDDI(TM) PCI Adapter 2.0 User's Guide, part
number 805-5449-10.
Note - If your system supports Dynamic Reconfiguration
(DR), do not shutdown or reboot,
refer to Installation manual that shipped with your system for further
installation instructions.
Check for existing SunFDDI software packages by using pkginfo command:
Note - If you are using FDDI as your main network interface,
do this de-installation
process from the system console only. Make sure no users or applications
are running
on the system.
Remove the software packages. As super-user (root), execute the
following:
# /usr/sbin/pkgrm
SUNWnft SUNWnfr /* for SBus */
# /usr/sbin/pkgrm
SUNWpft SUNWpfr /* for PCI */
2. Copy the file to a working directory such as /opt/sunfddi
Become root (super-user).
3. Uncompress this file in the working directory, for example /opt/sunfddi, as follow:
5. The sunfddi_s6_0_and_p2_0 directory will be created in your working directory.
